SENIORS’ CRUISE CONTINUES
JUNE 24, 2013
Sarnia, Ontario has had Seniors’ Cruises on Duc D'Orleans for more than 25 years. Initially Peter Henderson got Jacques Beauchamp and Mary Mathers to help him organize the first cruise. He wanted people in the area to be able to enjoy the waterfront as much as those with private watercraft could.
No one needed their names out front as the ‘Seniors’ were to be the focus of the day. Those who have contributed through the years have done it for the sake of giving enjoyment to the participants. ‘The cost, Peter would say, is ‘just a smile’.
When you see the faces of those coming from the trip, you know the effort is well worth it. As many as 2000 people have enjoyed this event and a light lunch in one day.
If you would like to help out, please take your contribution to the Cruise, or show up anytime after 8 a.m. for an assignment. If you wish to contribute to the Cruise, call 519-344-9518 or go to 265 N. Front Street, Suite 411-1. Cruises start at 9 am, and go until everyone’s had a ride. Rain or shine.
